Last week I was driving on I-485 when I witnessed a horrific car accident.  I have never seen anything like it.  I had my kids in the car with me and thankfully they did not see anything.  It was truly the hand of God protecting us because a few seconds more or a different decision and we could have been involved.

I came home, and while my kids had rest time, I grabbed my Bible and began to process the whole event.  I was suddenly overcome with fear.  What if I had not passed when I did?  What if something were to happen to one of my kids or my husband?  What if… my mind began to spin out of control.

I found myself in Psalm 121 (NIV)

 I lift up my
eyes to the hills—
       where does my help come from?

 My help comes from the LORD,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

 He will not let your foot slip—
       he
who watches over you will not slumber;

 indeed, he who watches over Israel

will neither slumber nor sleep.

 The LORD watches over you—
       the LORD
is your shade at your right hand;

 the sun will not harm you by day,

nor the moon by night.

 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
       he will watch over
your life;

 the
LORD will watch over your coming and going
       both now and
forevermore.

The truth is I can trust in God's sovereign hand on my life and my family.  He watches over my life, my coming and going now and forevermore.

God's Word is a beautiful thing.  When you take the time, He will meet
you right at your point of need.  Comfort, instruction, inspiration, and
rebuke, its all there in your time of need.
