We had another incredible weekend at Elevation.  We are in week 3 of This Is Your Permission Slip.  This week, we heard a message based on the life of King David.

My husband taught us 3 Permissions God often gives us.

1.  Fill your horn (move on)
Based on 1Sam 16:1 when God told Samuel to anoint a new king, King David.  God told Samuel to stop mourning what could have been in King Saul, move on and anoint David.  My husband encouraged us that sometimes, we have to leave the past behind and move on into the future that God has for us.

2.  Draw your sword (fight)
Based on 1Sam 30:7 when David and his 600 men came home to find their village had been attacked and all their wives, children and possessions stolen.  David mustered the energy to hunt the enemy down and take back what they had stolen.  And he did.  We learned today that sometimes you have to fight hard for what God has given you.  Fight for our purity, for your marriage, for your child.

3.  Change your clothes (get up)
In 2Sam 12:20-25  we find the story of David and Bathsheba.  When David was confronted with his sin, he repented but still suffered many consequences of his behavior.  In this passage we find David mourning over the pending death of his child but when he learned the child was finally dead, he rose, dressed and ate.  We learned that sometimes, God wants us to accept his forgiveness and get up!  Isaiah 61:9-10 tells us to exchange our rags for robes of righteousness.

There was so much more to this message.  I hope you will take the time to listen to it if you missed it.  The message was so incredible.  You can watch it today on the Elevation Network, in our archive and on our podcast.

Have a great Monday!
