It’s Friday and time for another Life Change Inbox! Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 3:2-4 that our lives are living letters written so that God might be glorified. People often write in to Elevation and share the work God is doing in their lives through our church. When I read these stories, I am reminded that we serve a powerful God who still works miracles in the lives of everyday people. These stories inspire me to keep giving, keep serving and continue praying for those who are far from God. I hope they will do the same for you.

Check out Nancy’s story…….

My two children and I came to Elevation in 2011. I was only going to attend Saturday nights because I wanted my Sundays to be free. I was not quite sold on church after my first visit. However… I started getting excited by Wednesday for the next Saturday night. I was excited for church! Then people kept talking about getting plugged in. I said to myself “Get plugged in. Are you kidding? I work all week and barely see my children. I can’t volunteer. Doesn’t anyone know what I am going through?” God did. I ended up joining the “Bull Pen.” By volunteering, I met some amazing people full of love and energy. How can you not cry sometimes when you feel so loved? When the pieces in your mind shift and you start understanding who you are in Christ and not who you are judged by yourself and society.

I was baptized during Follow and started making better choices. Russell Goetting encouraged me to serve in VIP (an area I was not thinking about) and now I love it. I struggle with depression and sometimes I don’t know if I can get up off my couch and go welcome VIPs, but I get off that couch because I am God’s instrument and if I can help lead one person to Him, one person like me, then depression will not hold me down. The enemy will NOT hold me down.

I have met some special people coming through that VIP tent. I had the honor of walking two young teenage boys to the Orange tent after confirming they were accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior for the first time. It felt amazing!

I “gave” up my Sundays and every other Saturday night for something more important than sitting on my couch “spending” time with my children while I was actually just watching them play. I gave them the gift of a loving church where they are absolutely blooming. All my excuses for not plugging in were lame. I plugged in. I surrendered. I have stumbled along the way. My church friends noticed and asked me to step up to be the Christian and mother that I am supposed to be. I am just getting started…. Elevation is a place I never thought I would be, yet a place that has made my faith greater.
