It’s Friday and time for another Life Change Inbox! I have been sharing some of the wonderful emails my husband gets, where people share the work God is doing in their lives through Elevation Church. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 3:2-4 that our lives are living letters written so that God might be glorified.
Here is Denise’s story…
I just wanted to share with you what a blessing Elevation Church has been in my life over the past year. My first visit to Elevation was during the 3rd week of the Mr and Mrs Betterhalf series in May of 2011. At that time, I had been divorced for almost a year and I felt like my life was way off track. I had been making lots of poor choices as I tried to adjust to my life as a single woman. I knew the only way to get my act together was to turn to God. My first visit to Elevation was just the message that I needed to hear. Pastor Steven’s sermon was geared toward the single people that particular morning. I did not know yet that I would later call Elevation home, but I knew that without a doubt God wanted me there that week.
After that, I found myself wanting to come back each week. The message was always so powerful, and I always felt like God was speaking to me through Pastor Steven. At this point though, I was still not calling Elevation “my church”. I was still missing that feeling of fellowship and connection. I would just come in, worship, listen to the message, and go home. Something was missing still. Then in August, I heard the announcement that Elevation would be launching a campus in Rock Hill and that they needed people to join the launch team. I felt led to do this but I was very nervous about the three month “all in” commitment that was asked of us. Being a single mother of three with an ex husband that was not supportive of Elevation at all made it even scarier for me. But I decided to take a leap of faith, and I joined the launch team for Rock Hill!
I have been in Rock Hill since the campus opened in September, and it has been one of the best decisions of my life. I have been serving on the eKidz Host Service team, and I have had the opportunity to serve with some of the most amazing women. They have made me a better person, and I am thankful to have them in my life! I would not have had the chance to meet them if I had not listened to God’s call to me to serve. I look forward to serving each and every Sunday morning!
Also, my three boys never complain about coming to church anymore. They have made friends in eKidz, and they absolutely love Elevation Rock Hill! My two older boys made the biggest decision of their lives at Elevation when they decided to give their lives to Christ at Easter. I am so proud of them and so very thankful to eKidz.
I could go on and on with ways that my life has been blessed by God through Elevation Church. I am grateful
and honored to be a part of this move of God. I was honored today as the eTeam volunteer of the month, but
Elevation deserves the credit. Elevation Church has given me way more than I could ever offer. I am the one who is blessed to be able to serve God through what I now happily and most definitely call “My Church”!
