I can’t believe I get to do this!!

It was a special weekend at Elevation as we kicked off LOVE Week 2013.  My husband led our church in 2010 to launch the first LOVE Week when we served more than 10,000 hours.  This year we expect to serve more than 60,000 hours.

This first weekend we began building three homes, making meals for 250,000 people, serving meals to homeless neighbors, cleaning and renovating parks and more.  Here are some photos from each campus…
Elevation Blakeney and Rock Hill packaged meals with Servants with a Heart.  Together we packaged more than 400,000 meals to be distributed in Nicaragua and in our own city to feed hungry children

The Providence Campus worked hard to made 5,000 sandwiches for homeless and under resourced people in our city.

At Elevation GTA (that’s Toronto :)) we are doing LOVE week too!  We packaged care kitsto go out to the community.

Our University Campus put together more than 3,000 Hygiene Kits for the people being served at the Urban Ministry Center, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Ronald McDonald House, and local homeless shelters.

At Elevation Gaston volunteers assembled nearly 1,000 Backpacks for under resourced kids in CMS and Gaston County schools.

And at Elevation Matthews and Uptown our church packaged 100,000 meals with Stop Hunger Now to be distributed around the world to starving children.

We shared our new outreach documentary with our church, showing how we’ve invested part of $1 million given to outreach from our 2012 Banner Years offering.  We were inspired to see how our giving is making an impact all over the world.

I cannot believe  that during the life of our church we’ve given away $9.5 million to our outreach partners.  And it’s exciting to think about how the best is still yet to come.  And together this week we have the opportunity to bring the practical love of Jesus to people who are hurting in our cities.  See the full list of serving opportunities at http://www.loveweek2013.com
