Elevation Worship does it again!

I am so excited!  Our worship team released an EP today with two of my favorite new songs we have been singing at Elevation!  Unstoppable God and my personal favorite, Jesus I Come.  There is also a new version of Raised to Life available as well!  We have these songs on repeat in the car and in the house!

The EP is available only in digital format. Click here to purchase from iTunes.

We’ve also made several resources available for each of these songs at ElevationWorship.com, including lyrics, chord charts, loops, tutorials, and more.

And just because she’s so cute…

Today is the day!!!

The day is finally here!!!  This book has been in the makings for so long.  I am so proud of my husband for this.  Having watched the process of writing a book 3 times now, I can tell you that it doesn’t get any easier the 3rd time around.  There was a lot of resistance against this book and I know that is because the message is so great.

As I said yesterday, I read the first chapter with tears in my eyes because it was exactly what I needed to hear in that moment and I guarantee it will be the same for you.  In this book my husband teaches us how to hear God above the voices of insecurity, fear, condemnation and discouragement.

And today, to kick off the release of this book, we are doing a live radio show from 10am-6pm!!  Pastor Steven will be joined with Lysa TerKuerst as they interview guests such as Christine Caine, Pastor Craig Groeschel, Louie Giglio, and so many others.  It is going to be a great day.

Join us on the ElevationNetwork and don’t forget to order the book at CrashtheChatterbox.com

This weekend we started a new initiative called 52 Days of Thanks and Praise.  We want to fill the rest of the year with thanksgiving for all that the Lord has done.

When the new year rolls around, I always have the tendency to focus on all the negative things from the previous year that I want to change.  This year I want to go into the new year focused on all the amazing things God has done in me and for me and around me and all the things He will continue to do.

We are starting our day with thanks.  To help us out Elevation created this website with a new confession of thanksgiving and praise every day for us to read out loud.  Check it out here.  I hope you will join us here and on social media as we fill the atmosphere with our gratefulness because we truly do have so much to be thankful for.

Monday Morning Commentary- I can show you better than I can tell you!

This weekend we began our 2-week series, Raised to Life!  And what an amazing weekend it was.  When my kids and I were watching all the people getting baptized I told them, “Guys, this is why we do everything we do!”

My husband’s message on baptism was clear and inspiring!  But rather than tell you about it, I want to show you mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, brothers and sisters, entire families and many many people professing their faith to the world.

You can watch the message today on the Elevation Network, in our archive and on our podcast.

And don’t forget, every sermon is also available on the Elevation App for your smart phone.

Have a great Monday!

One of life’s greatest joys

One of my favorite things we do at Elevation is baptisms.  They are so special and meaningful.  They always encourage me to know that what we do really matters.  But the best kind of baptism to watch is the baptism of your friend.

Last night, to kick off our Raised to Life series, we whet everyone’s appetite with a few baptisms, and one of them was my friend, Melissa.  Here is a rough video of the night…

I cannot wait for this weekend!   Would you pray with me for all the people who will take the step of faith this weekend?  Also pray for all of our teams that will be setting up and preparing and carrying out the event.  All across our campuses, it is going to be awesome!

2 1/2 years ago, our church had a goal to serve 10,000 hours during our first LOVE week. Isn’t it amazing what God can do when a group of people unite under one vision? This year together, we served 58,720 hours in the US and Canada!!!

420,00 meals packaged for distribution to malnourished children in the US and around the world

6 Habitat home construction sites

500 school uniforms collected for homeless children

3,000 backpacks assembled for under resourced children

1,500 shoe boxes packaged for Operation Christmas Child

6 trucks of clothing donated

514 units of blood given, impacting up to 1,542 lives

Over $400,000 given away because of the generous givers at Elevation Church

And perhaps my favorite number, 3,664 hours served by kids. How exciting is it to know that we are raising up a generation of kids who love to serve others in need.

The best part is, the love doesn’t stop with LOVE week. There are so many ways you can get involved on an ongoing basis with your kids, your spouse, your eGroup, and more. Check out ElevationOutreach.com for ongoing opportunities.

I’ll leave you with a picture of my kids last Sunday, excited to go to Ekidz to turn in their LOVE week logs and collections. Have a great weekend!!

Girls Night Out

Last night was our 3rd annual Girls Night Out.  It was a night where select girls who participate in One7, Right Moves for Youth and Safe Journey get to come and be pampered, loved on and encouraged.  The girls arrived in limos, ate delicious desserts, had their make up and nails done, danced and got to hear about Jesus too.  It was such a fun night for everyone involved.

Tonight is our live Elevation Worship recording.  I am so excited.  Everyone is welcome, but you better get there early.  We will be collecting school uniforms for kids at the door.  More details here.

If you want to get involved tomorrow, there are still plenty of openings.  You can serve at a free medical clinic, cook for people, do building renovations, grounds clean up and more.  Just head to our LOVEWeek2013 site and sign up.  (And don’t miss the little button in the right hand corner that takes you to a new page).

It is not too late to get involved for the first time or do more!

Books, Books, Books

Yesterday we served at Promising Pages, an organization that gives books to kids in need.  The kids made bookmarks while the grown ups sorted  and wrapped books to be given out later.  The books are distributed at local schools and shelters.  Promising Pages has an audacious goal to distribute 1 Million books this year!  They are ALWAYS collecting  new and used books.

Tonight I am serving at Girls Night Out.  A night of fun for high school and middle school girls served by our partners, One7, Safe Journey and Right Moves for Youth.  It will be a night full of glitz, glamor and pampering.  I can’t wait to share pictures with you.

Tomorrow night is the Elevation Worship LIVE recording at Blakeney, everyone is welcome (hint: get there early!). And this weekend EVERYONE can participate in opportunities on location after worship experiences on Saturday and Sunday.  Check out ElevationOutreach.com to see more opportunities to get involved.

Servants with a heart

Last night we got to serve as a family. Servants with a Heart is an organization that provides food for hungry children all over the world. You may have seen a lot of pictures of people packaging this food this week because we have a goal to package 350,000meals by this Sunday and we are well on our way!

This is a fun activity that everyone in our family enjoyed. Together with other families, we formed a line to assemble bags full of rice, crushed soy (protein), powder with vitamins and flavoring, and dried veggies. The bags were then weighed, measured and sealed. Tonight we even got to taste the stew cooked and it was delicious!

If you’re frustrated because many of the sign ups are full, keep checking the LOVEweek site because we are adding events daily!

LOVE Week Opportunities to serve from your home

Yesterday the boys and I served at Bright Blessings.  Bright Blessings is an organization that provides gifts and birthday parties for homeless kids and it is a cool place.  We had the best time decorating wrapping paper, packaging goodie bags, and wrapping books.  It was such a fun place to serve with my kids.  All of the events are full for LOVE Week but Bright Blessings is always collecting items for kids that range from new toys and books to hygiene items and juice boxes (see here for their wish list) and they also have ongoing opportunities for serving with your kids.  Check out their site for more information.

Here are three ways you can serve at home…
Clean out your closet and donate your new and gently used in season clothing to the Crisis Assistance Ministry Free Store to be redistributed to people in need from our own community.  The Crisis Assistance Ministry Free Store allows people in need of clothing to still get the items they need while allowing them to reallocate funds to pay essential bills, food, and shelter. The entire stores turns over in only 2-days. So that means that your clothing will likely be on someone within a week. Men’s clothing comes in and goes out much quicker. Donations for men will be on someone within two days.
Create a welcome basket of essential items for families who have moved into the Ronald McDonald House while their child is being treated at an area hospital.  Families often leave in a hurry to get to the hospital to get help for a sick or injured child.  Most often leaving without basic essentials for themselves. These welcome baskets fulfill a need for families while encouraging them and helping them rest, relax, and find hope.
Take the opportunity to bless a new mother by creating a new baby basket full of diapers, onesies and other baby items. These baskets are a way you can bless a young family with basic items needed to care for newborns.

You can drop these items off at the actual organization OR at the orange tent of your campus this weekend.  Just make sure you label your items for the correct location.

My boys (and I) cleaned out their closet.  Here they are stuffing the truck at our Matthews location which is open every day this week for donations.
